Tronic Ivory Fan Dimmer Switch, Screwless Polycarbonate

Our review

This is a wall-mounted fan dimmer switch from Tronic, finished in ivory with a screwless faceplate and softened edges, so it sits flush and looks tidy next to modern switches and sockets. The body uses a polycarbonate casing backed by a metal plate, which is the combination you want if the switch will be pressed often or mounted where hands and cleaning cloths meet it daily. It suits anyone replacing an ageing dimmer in a bedroom, lounge or office where a fan runs at varying speeds, and it also works for buyers matching an existing ivory accessory range. Before ordering, confirm the fan's load and wiring suit a dimmer, check the wall box depth and fixing centres, and decide whether you need a one-way or multi-way setup, since those details decide fit more than looks do. Compare against plastic-only dimmers, which cost less but flex and discolour sooner, and against metal-front plates, which feel heavier but show fingerprints. If a screwless ivory face and a metal-reinforced build matter more to you than the lowest-priced option, this is the one to shortlist; it is available on Sokonia.
