Tronic Gold 1-Gang Speed Controller Switch, 500W
TSh 25,000
Our review
This is a single-gang wall switch from Tronic designed to control fan or motor speed rather than simply switch power on and off, and it carries a 500W rating. The faceplate has a gold screwless finish with smooth edges, and behind it sits a metal mounting plate plus a polycarbonate body chosen for strength and long service. It suits anyone replacing a worn speed control in a room where the fitting is visible, since the screwless front looks tidier than a standard plate. Before buying, confirm the load you intend to control stays within that 500W figure, check that your wall box and wiring suit a one-gang fitting, and decide whether gold matches the other switches nearby. Compare it with plain white controllers if appearance matters less, and with multi-gang units if you need to control more than one circuit from the same point. Installation should be done by someone competent with mains wiring.
