Tronic Black TV Socket, Slim Design

Our review

This is a single television socket from Tronic, finished in black with a slim profile, smooth edges and a shiny surface intended to sit neatly in a modern home or office interior. It does the basic job of a wall outlet: it gives you a fixed point where the cable running to your aerial meets the cable running to your television or signal receiver, so the connection is tidy rather than a loose lead trailing across the room. It suits anyone wiring or refreshing a room who wants the faceplate to blend in rather than stand out, and it is a sensible pick if your existing socket is cracked, painted over or simply dated. Before buying, check the type of aerial cable and connector your installation uses, and confirm the mounting arrangement matches the box already in your wall, since none of that is stated here. Compare it with other sockets mainly on finish and profile, and on whether the connector type matches your setup.
