Tronic Gold DP Switch with Neon, 20A, White

Our review

This is a double pole switch from Tronic, rated at 20 amps and finished in white with a neon indicator. A double pole switch breaks both the live and neutral conductors, which is what makes it useful for isolating an appliance completely rather than just switching it off. The 20A rating points to small ovens and similar appliances, so it suits anyone wiring a dedicated point for a built-in oven, a water heater of modest draw, or another appliance that needs a proper isolator nearby. The neon indicator is a practical touch: it shows at a glance whether the circuit is live, which helps when you are working on or servicing whatever is connected. The slim body, smooth edges and shiny surface are aimed at modern interiors, so it should sit neatly alongside contemporary switches and sockets rather than looking like an afterthought. Before buying, check the current draw of your appliance against the 20A rating, confirm the switch fits the mounting arrangement you have, and decide whether you want a neon indicator or a plain switch. Compare it with single pole switches, which are cheaper but do not isolate the neutral, and with higher-rated isolators if your appliance draws more. No specifications beyond the above are given, so verify fit and rating with the seller before ordering. Available on Sokonia.
