Tronic Electromechanical Key Card Switch, Four-Wire
TSh 35,500
Our review
This is a four-wire electromechanical key card switch from Tronic, intended as an alternative to purely mechanical access control. Instead of a turn of a key or a code, access is granted by inserting a card, and the unit is described as built to tolerate a high number of insertions and removals, which is the part that matters most in daily use. It suits hotels, guesthouses, offices, hostels and residential rentals where you want a simple, physical access method rather than a networked system. Before buying, confirm the wiring arrangement your installation uses, since the four-wire design has to match your existing setup, and check that your cards and door hardware are compatible. Compare it with mechanical locks and with electronic readers: mechanical locks avoid wiring but wear with keys, while electronic systems add complexity and cost. This sits in the middle, and the deciding factor is usually how much traffic the door sees.
