Tronic Galvanised Iron Electrical Switch Box, 3 Way, Single & Twin

Our review

This Tronic box is a galvanised iron enclosure intended to sit inside a wall rather than on its surface. Because it is recessed, fitting it means the wall has to be chased or chiselled out first, so it suits someone who is already opening up a wall for wiring, not a quick surface fix. The single and twin wording points to how it accommodates switch arrangements, and the 3 way detail tells you the switching configuration it is built around. Before buying, confirm the depth and cutout your wall can take, and check that the box matches the switch plate and wiring layout you plan to use. Compare it with plastic back boxes, which are lighter and easier to cut in, and with surface-mounted boxes that avoid wall damage entirely. Galvanised iron is the sturdier route where the wall is being opened anyway. Available on Sokonia.
