Tronic Pop Up Socket 3G Universal with 2 USB Ports

Our review

This Tronic pop-up socket is a retractable power column designed to sit on a desk or workstation, rising up when you need outlets and dropping back down when you do not. It carries three universal sockets and two USB ports, so a laptop, monitor, phone and a couple of accessories can share one point instead of a tangle of extension leads. It suits anyone with a fixed desk, a home office or a shared workspace where power access is awkward. The mini-column ships with the parts needed for installation, including a foot for floor or desk attachment, top and side covers, and fastenings, so check your desk thickness and the cutout or fixing method you plan to use before ordering. Compare it with fixed desk grommets and plain extension boards: those are cheaper but always visible, while a pop-up unit keeps the surface cleaner. Also weigh universal sockets against dedicated plug types, and confirm the USB output suits your devices, since no electrical ratings are listed here. If cable clutter is your main frustration and you want a tidier desk, this is the type of fitting to consider; it is available on Sokonia.
