Tronic Metal Clad 1 Gang 2 Way Switch, Slim Grey Steel

Our review

This is a single-gang, two-way switch from Tronic, built with a metal clad body and finished in a slim grey that is meant to sit quietly in both homes and commercial interiors. The two-way function is the part that matters most: it lets one light be controlled from two separate positions, which is why it is commonly chosen for hallways, staircases and larger rooms where you want a switch at each end of the route. It suits anyone wiring or replacing a point where two-location control is needed, and the steel construction gives it a more robust feel than a plain plastic accessory. Before buying, confirm the wiring arrangement at your switch point actually supports two-way operation, since a two-way switch used on its own will not give you that dual control. Also check the box or mounting depth suits a metal clad accessory, and that the grey finish matches the other switches nearby. Compared with basic plastic switches of the same function, this one leans towards durability and a more industrial look, so weigh that against a simpler flush plastic unit if appearance is your priority.
