Tronic GX53 LED Bulb, 9W Flat Round Daylight

Our review

This Tronic bulb is a 9W LED unit with a GX53 base and a flat round body, emitting a daylight colour temperature. It is aimed at indoor fittings that take the shallow, twist-lock GX53 connection, such as recessed ceiling spots, display cabinets and under-cabinet strips where a standard screw or bayonet bulb will not fit. Because the shape is flat rather than domed, it sits close to the surface, which helps in low-clearance housings. Before buying, confirm your fixture uses a GX53 base and that the bulb's diameter and depth will clear the trim. Also check whether your fitting is open or enclosed, since heat build-up affects LED lifespan. Compared with halogen GX53 lamps, this 9W LED should draw less power for similar light output, though brightness and beam angle are not stated here, so compare those figures if they matter to you.
