This Tronic dock extension is a USB 3.0 hub-style accessory for adding ports or extending a connection, built around a 5Gbps transfer rate. That figure is ten times what USB 2.0 manages, so it suits anyone moving large files between a computer and external drives, or connecting several peripherals where speed matters. It also supports USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices, so older keyboards, mice and flash drives should still work. Before buying, check which USB version your computer's ports actually are, since a USB 2.0 port will hold the connection back to 480Mbps regardless of the dock.
