Tronic Digital Timer Switch 16Amps

Our review

This is a DIN-style digital timer switch rated at 16 amps, made by Tronic. It is the kind of device you wire into a circuit to switch loads on and off to a schedule rather than relying on a manual switch. It suits homeowners, landlords, shopkeepers and small workshop owners who want pumps, lights, heaters, signage or ventilation to run on a set routine without someone being present to flip a switch.
The two features worth noting are the keyboard lock, which stops accidental button presses from altering your programme, and the clock correction or calibration function, which lets you nudge the internal clock so it does not drift out of step over time. Both matter in real installations, especially where the timer sits somewhere people can reach it.
Before buying, check the load you intend to control. A 16A rating covers many resistive loads, but motors, pumps and LED drivers can draw differently, so confirm the timer is suitable for your specific appliance and supply. Also decide whether you need daily, weekly or multi-channel switching, since simpler timers cost less but offer fewer schedules.
Compare against mechanical timers, which are cheaper but less precise and lose their setting after a power cut, and against smart Wi-Fi timers, which add app control but depend on a stable network. If you want a self-contained unit with a lock and calibration, this one is available on Sokonia.
