Sony MDR-EX155APWQE In-Ear Headphones with Mic, 9mm Drivers

Our review

The Sony MDR-EX155APWQE is a wired in-ear headphone with a 1.2 metre cord, an inline microphone and an inline remote, so it handles phone calls as well as music. Sony describes the 9mm driver units, built with neodymium magnets, as delivering clear highs and powerful lows from a compact design, with high sensitivity that makes them easy to drive from a phone. They suit someone who wants a simple wired set for commuting, calls and everyday listening, and who prefers not to worry about charging a battery. Before buying, check that your phone still has the headphone connection you need, and think about whether an inline remote and mic are enough control for you. Compared with wireless earbuds, a wired pair like this avoids charging and pairing, but ties you to your device; compared with basic in-ears, the Sony name and driver design are the main draw. Fit matters with any in-ear model, so consider whether the supplied tips will seal well in your ears. Available on Sokonia.
