Our review
The JBL Go Essential is a palm-sized Bluetooth speaker built around a single 3.1W driver, tuned for the big, bass-forward JBL sound signature rather than flat accuracy. Its IPX7 rating means it survives full submersion, so it suits poolside, beach and shower use, plus anyone who wants background audio from a bag or kitchen counter. Battery life is listed at 5 hours, which is modest, so consider whether that covers your typical outing. Bluetooth 4.2 is an older version, worth noting if you pair from a distance or want lower latency for video. Compare against slightly larger JBL Clip or Flip models if you need longer runtime or a strap. Check the charging cable is included and confirm the IPX7 claim matters for how you plan to use it.
