Ingco Spirit Level 60cm with Powerful Magnets (HSL38060M)

Our review

This is a 60cm spirit level from Ingco, sold under model HSL38060M, and it is built around three powerful magnets set into the body. That magnetic feature is the main reason to pick it over a plain level: it lets the tool hold itself to steel studs, frames, shelving uprights and other ferrous metal surfaces while you work, so you are not relying on a second pair of hands. The body is double side milled and has a double flat surface design, which matters because a level is only as good as the flatness of its edges. The vials are rated at 0.5mm/m accuracy, a figure worth comparing against other levels in this size class, since cheaper tools often quote looser tolerances. Thickness is 1.5mm, and the stated specification also lists 80cm X 1.5mm, so confirm the actual length you need before ordering. It suits carpenters, steel fabricators, tilers, electricians running conduit, and DIY users doing shelving, door frames or bench assembly. Before buying, think about length: 60cm is handy for confined spaces and short runs but too short for checking long walls or floors, where a 120cm level is more reliable. Also check whether your typical work involves steel; if not, the magnets add little. Compare vial readability, edge flatness and how the magnets are fixed, since poorly seated magnets can collect swarf and scratch finished surfaces. Wipe the edges and magnet faces clean before each use, store it flat or hanging rather than leaning, and avoid dropping it, as a knock can throw a vial out of true. Available on Sokonia.
