This Ingco trowel is a notched plastering tool with a 230 x 100mm face and 10 x 6mm teeth, made from carbon steel and packed by label. The toothed edge is what separates it from a plain finishing trowel: it combes adhesive or plaster into parallel ridges so tiles or boards bed down evenly. It suits someone laying wall or floor tiles, or applying a scratch coat where a keyed surface is needed. Before buying, check that the tooth spacing matches your adhesive and tile size, since the wrong notch depth can leave too little or too much material. Compare it with stainless steel trowels if you work with wet mixes often, and with wider or narrower blades if your tiles are large or you are working in tight corners. Carbon steel needs drying and a light oil after washing to keep rust away.
