Our review

This is a twelve-piece set of HSS twist drill bits from Ingco, supplied in a double blister pack. The sizes run in half-millimetre steps from 2mm up to 8mm, which covers the small to medium holes most people drill around a home or workshop: pilot holes, fixings, cable entries and light metalwork. It suits a household tool kit or a spare set for a workshop bench, and the graded sizes mean you can step up gradually rather than jumping straight to the final diameter.
Before buying, check that your drill chuck will grip a 2mm shank, since very small bits need a chuck that closes tightly. Also think about the material you are drilling. HSS bits handle wood, plastic and many metals, but they are not masonry bits, so concrete and brick need a different type. If you mostly drill masonry, compare this with a masonry set; if you want a wider range, compare with larger sets that include sizes above 8mm.
