The body is made from malleable cast iron, which is the material you want in a clamp of this kind because it flexes slightly under load instead of cracking the way a brittle casting can. The T-shaped thread is the part that turns to close the jaws, and its shape gives you a decent grip when you are tightening it by hand. It arrives packed on a paper card, so expect it to come as a single clamp rather than in a set. A clamp this size suits woodworking, welding setups, metalwork and general workshop holding where you need both hands free. Before buying, think about the jaw opening you actually need: 150mm covers a lot of small and medium jobs, but if you regularly clamp thicker stock you may want a larger size.
