Dolphin Rice Cooker 1.2L 500W One-Switch RC01

Our review

The Dolphin RC01 is a small rice cooker built around a single switch: press it down to cook, and it handles the rest of the cycle without timers or menus. Its 1.2-litre capacity and 500W element put it in the compact class, so it fits kitchens where counter space is tight and suits singles, couples or small families cooking one or two cups at a time. The inner pot and steamer are both aluminium, which conducts heat well but is lighter and more scratch-prone than non-stick coated pots, so use a soft spoon and wash it gently. Before buying, check that 1.2 litres matches how much rice you actually cook per meal, and compare against larger 1.8L models if you often cook for guests. Also weigh one-switch simplicity against programmable cookers that keep rice warm for hours. Available on Sokonia.
