Tronic 40W Black Outdoor Stand Light E27 IP44

Our review

This is a 40W outdoor stand light from Tronic, finished in black and built around an E27 lamp holder. The IP44 rating means it is designed to cope with splashing water and dust, which is the key detail for anyone placing a light in a garden, on a patio, beside a pathway or near an entrance where weather exposure is a concern. The E27 fitting is the practical part: it takes a widely available screw-in bulb, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits the space rather than being locked into a sealed unit. Before buying, check the bulb you intend to use is suitable for outdoor conditions and that its wattage does not exceed the 40W figure stated here. Also confirm the mounting position works for a stand light rather than a wall or ceiling fitting, since the fixing method is not specified. Compared with other outdoor lights of this kind, the main things to weigh are the IP rating, the lamp cap type and the finish. A lower IP rating would limit where you can safely install it, and a non-standard cap would make replacement bulbs harder to find. The black finish keeps it visually quiet against dark fences, soil and foliage. If you already use E27 bulbs elsewhere, this keeps your spares simple. It is available on Sokonia.
