Tronic Floor Socket 1G Universal with RJ45 Data Port

Our review

This is a single floor socket from Tronic that combines one universal power outlet with an RJ45 data port, so a desk or media setup can draw both power and a wired network connection from the same point in the floor. The faceplate is soft-edged polished stainless steel, and the cover sits flush with the surface to keep dust and impurities out of the socket when it is not in use. It suits anyone planning floor-level power and data in a home office, living room or commercial space where trailing cables across the floor are unwanted. Before buying, confirm the depth and cut-out your floor construction allows, check that your wiring and back boxes match a floor-mounted fitting, and decide whether you need one data port or several. Compare it with plain floor sockets that offer power only, and with plastic-faced units if stainless steel matters to you. The data port is the main differentiator here, so weigh that against alternatives that separate power and network into two fittings. Available on Sokonia.
