Ingco Masonry Drill Bit 8x120mm DBM111081

Our review

This is a single 8mm masonry drill bit from Ingco, 120mm long, supplied in a plastic bag. The 8mm diameter suits common wall plug sizes, so it is the bit you reach for when fixing shelves, curtain rails, brackets or conduit to brick, block or mortar. The 120mm length gives useful reach through plaster into the masonry behind, while staying short enough to control with a standard hammer drill. Before buying, check your drill's chuck accepts the bit's shank, confirm the plug you plan to use matches an 8mm hole, and consider whether you need a spare, since masonry bits dull faster in hard block. Compare against branded carbide-tipped bits if you drill often, and against cheaper sets if you only need one size. Available on Sokonia.
