This is a wall-mounted rotary dimmer from Tronic, rated 500W at 250V~ 50/60Hz, with a 90mm x 90mm faceplate in bakelite and a choice of black, gold, grey or white finishes. It works by raising and lowering voltage to dimmable fixtures, so it suits anyone replacing a standard switch where softer, adjustable lighting is wanted, such as a living room, bedroom or dining area. Before buying, confirm your bulbs are actually dimmable and that the total load stays within 500W; non-dimmable LEDs and most fluorescents will flicker or fail. Also check the box depth and whether your wiring suits the assembled unit, since bakelite faceplates sit differently from slim plastic ones.
