Tefal Comfort Swivel Vegetable Peeler K1298114 with Potato Eye Remover

Our review

This Tefal peeler is a straightforward hand tool for everyday kitchen prep, built around a swivel blade in stainless steel and a handle in black and grey plastic with TPR, the rubbery material that gives grip. The integrated knife for cutting out potato eyes is the detail that separates it from a basic peeler, since you do not need a separate paring knife for those spots. It suits someone peeling potatoes, carrots and similar vegetables regularly, and anyone who finds slim metal peelers uncomfortable to hold. Before buying, think about whether you prefer a straight or Y-shaped peeler, since the two suit different hand positions, and check whether the blade is replaceable if you want the tool to last. Compare handle thickness and grip material against peelers you have used, and consider whether you peel mostly soft or firm vegetables, as that affects how much a swivel blade helps.
