Tefal Ingenio Silicone Basting Brush K2072414 with Tilting Head

Our review

This is a basting brush from Tefal's Ingenio line, built around a platinum silicone head that the brand rates as heat resistant up to 250°C. The head tilts, which helps when you are spreading marinade or sauce across a surface, and it can be removed from the handle. The handle also has a bowl-rest position, so you can set the brush down on the rim of a bowl instead of laying it on the counter. It suits anyone who bastes roasts, glazes pastry, or brushes oil onto a pan or grill, and the removable head makes cleaning more straightforward than a one-piece brush. Before buying, think about what you already own: a silicone brush like this is easier to clean and gentler on non-stick surfaces than a traditional bristle brush, but bristle brushes can pick up and hold thinner liquids differently. Check that the tilting and removable head design matches how you cook, and confirm the head material and heat limit suit your usual cooking temperatures. It is available on Sokonia.
