The 6-inch size suits one-handed use in confined spaces, though it limits how thick a gauge you can reasonably cut. Before buying, check the jaw width and the maximum cutting capacity you need, since end cutters vary a lot here, and confirm whether the head is flush-cut or bevelled, as that changes how close you can trim. Compare with diagonal cutters if you mostly cut wire in open air, and with larger 8-inch end nippers if you regularly work with thicker material.
